Weekend Reads: Three Must-Read Books for Creative People

Creativity and innovation is a never-ending pursuit. It’s more than a eureka moment, a mindset, or the hardwiring of your brain. It requires the willingness to learn, practice, and building proper habits that allow your creativity to thrive.

Sometimes the best thing you can do to enhance your creative mind is to learn how others think and operate. Podcasts and lectures can give you great insight, but I gravitate towards reading books by or about innovators, creatives, and nonconformists.

I try to read for at least half an hour a night during the week, but the weekends are when I get most of my reading done. It clears the clutter in my head from the prior week and sometimes a little inspiration can get the wheels rolling again.

Reading the right book can teach you things to apply to your project or business, and can get propel you over the mental block you’re stuck at.

I certainly haven’t read every book written about creativity and innovation, but these are three gems that I find myself referring back to time and time again:

1. “The Creative Habit” by Twyla Tharp
